About Me

Hello, I'm Mina, a yoga teacher specialising in pregnancy and postnatal yoga. I'm the founder of Womama Yoga and a proud mother of two. My journey with yoga began in 2000 during my training as a professional dancer at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance in Leeds. Yoga became my go-to for keeping my body warm, strong, and supple, as well as maintaining focus before performances.

When an injury forced me to take a break from dancing, yoga remained a safe and connecting practice for me. It also played a crucial role in my recovery from a serious car accident. After my dance career ended, I transitioned into marketing but felt the need to continue working with movement and creativity. Once again, yoga called me back.

I immersed myself in local classes and discovered the amazing grounding benefits of hot yoga. However, when I became pregnant for the first time, I had to pause my practice. It was during this period that I found the transformative power of pregnancy yoga—a gentle practice that revolutionised my physical and mental well-being throughout pregnancy and even during my baby's birth.

The profound impact of pregnancy yoga inspired me to share what I had learned with as many expectant mothers as possible. In 2018, I completed specialized pregnancy and postnatal yoga teacher training with Sally Parkes Yoga. Soon after, I became pregnant for the second time and welcomed our daughter into the world the following summer.

In 2020, amidst the pandemic and when my youngest turned one, I seized the opportunity to turn my dream into reality. I left my job to pursue additional yoga qualifications and launched Womama Yoga. I'm dedicated to supporting others through yoga, just as it has always been there for me during times of need.

I genuinely hope that yoga can be a source of support and well-being for you as well. I look forward to welcoming you to the mat soon.

With love,
Mina
